Reporting standards
Editorial Policy
The product comes first. Each story should distinguish documented specifications, brand claims, and information we cannot establish.
Sources and evidence
We start with official product pages, dated announcements, catalogues, public brand posts, and event materials. Secondary reporting can surface a lead but does not replace verification. Source URLs and access dates stay with the story. Conflicting specifications are investigated; unresolved details are omitted or clearly qualified. A current catalogue listing alone is not proof of a new launch.
News is not a test
Release Brief reports a new product or announcement. What Changed describes documented updates to a named product. First Look, if used, means source-based analysis unless physical handling is explicitly documented. We currently publish no Field Tested reviews. We do not infer comfort, safety, durability, or performance from photographs.
How AI participates
AI performs source discovery, evidence organization, drafting, and assisted checks. It may not invent specifications, quotes, people, credentials, testing, or release dates. The workflow retains source packets and draft records. The publication remains responsible for its output; AI assistance is not a guarantee of accuracy. Our use of AI is explained here rather than hidden behind a fabricated author persona.
Specifications and availability
Keep original units and identify the size or variant behind a weight. Attribute performance and sustainability claims to the brand. Distinguish announcement dates, sale dates, and our publication date. State currency and region for prices, and do not expand regional availability into global availability. Unknown details are not filled from assumption.
Image sources
Product photographs and official graphics are credited to their source, with a link beside the article image. Images illustrate the reported product and are not evidence that Outdoor Forth handled it. AI-generated depictions must not be presented as genuine product photographs.
Commercial separation
The current site has no affiliate links, paid placements, or advertising integration. If display advertising is introduced, it will be visually separate from editorial content. Any sponsored work or material relationship must be disclosed. More information is in our Affiliate & Commercial Disclosure.
Changes to the record
Material errors require a dated correction identifying what changed. Routine availability updates must be distinguishable from the original report. See Corrections for the review process and contact status.
