Big Agnes has updated the Copper Spur UL2 Bikepack for 2026. The freestanding two-person tent combines the brand's new HyperBead fabric with a 12-inch pole set and a dry-bag stuff sack designed to mount directly to a bicycle.
Built around bicycle storage
The Shortstik pole sections reduce packed length so the tent can fit across handlebars, inside a frame or on a pannier. Its waterproof stuff sack has two integrated Big Hitch straps for attaching the load to a frame, raft or other mounting point. Packed size is 16 x 5.5 inches, or 41 x 14 cm.
The tent has a trail weight of 2 lb 15 oz / 1.33 kg and a total weight of 3 lb 11 oz / 1.67 kg. Big Agnes also lists a fast-fly weight of 2 lb 8 oz / 1.14 kg when the tent is used with the separately sold footprint.
HyperBead fabric and interior space
The rainfly and floor use 15-denier HyperBead nylon ripstop with a 20-denier solution-dyed grid and a 1,500 mm waterproof rating. Big Agnes says the material is 6% lighter, 25% more waterproof and 50% stronger than fabric with traditional coatings; Outdoor Forth has not independently verified those comparisons.
Floor area is 29 sq ft / 2.7 sq m, with a 40-inch / 102 cm peak height. Two side vestibules each add 9 sq ft / 0.8 sq m of covered storage. Inside are two side pockets, a 3D foot pocket and an oversized helmet pocket.
