Big Agnes has included the Mica Basin Camp Chair in its New for 2026 collection. The packable seat has a listed trail weight of 2 lb 3 oz / 992 g and folds into a 17.5-inch / 44 cm carry bag.
Hub-less aluminum frame
The frame uses aircraft aluminum and removes conventional hubs to reduce packed bulk. Color-coded, shock-corded poles guide assembly, while a self-equalizing center pole is designed to level the chair on uneven ground. Pre-bent poles create a wider seat.
Set up, the chair measures 22 x 19.5 x 29 inches / 56 x 50 x 74 cm with a 16-inch / 41 cm seat height. Big Agnes gives it a maximum load rating of 300 lb / 136 kg. Outdoor Forth has not independently tested comfort, stability or load capacity.
Materials, colors and price
Solid-color versions use high-tenacity Robic nylon with polyester ripstop and a waterproof UTS coating made without intentionally added PFAS. Total packed weight, including the carry bag, is 2 lb 5 oz / 1.05 kg; packed dimensions are 3.5 x 4.5 x 17.5 inches / 9 x 11 x 44 cm.
The US product page listed Cendre Blue and Black at $199.95 on September 5, 2026. Black was available while Cendre Blue was unavailable at the time of checking. Big Agnes places the chair in its 2026 collection, but the pages do not say that the complete chair design first debuted this year.
