Repair comes before material recovery
The jacket has a replaceable main-zipper slider and reinforcement at areas Arc'teryx identified as common failure points. Its 70-denier GORE-TEX PRO construction pairs an expanded-polyethylene membrane with nylon face and backer fabrics.
Arc'teryx says those nylon layers are engineered for chemical separation from the membrane at the end of the garment's repairable life. Aquafil is then intended to reprocess the recovered nylon into ECONYL yarn. The company describes this as a designed recovery path; it has not published recovery yields or presented the complete jacket as universally recyclable.
The first product in a five-step framework
System 0 links lower-impact materials, durability, repairability, product take-back and material recycling. Arc'teryx developed the Sperro SV with the GORE-TEX brand, involved North Shore Rescue in testing early samples and says the design received TESTEX Circularity certification.
In Japan, the men's jacket weighs 506 g and is listed in sizes S through XL. The women's version weighs 450 g and is listed in sizes XS through M. Both cost ¥198,000 including tax.
