Four powered joints in one frame
The four motors connect through a continuous carbon-fiber frame. Hypershell says the system coordinates propulsion and load support with assistance during descents and landings. Its HyperDrive Pro drive system is rated for up to 1,490 W peak output and a maximum assisted speed of 17 km/h.
A detachable 72 Wh PocketVolt battery weighs 370 g. Hypershell claims up to 20 km of range, though actual results will depend on the user, terrain and assistance level.
Sized for outdoor carry
Halo weighs 2.6 kg, folds to less than 8 L and is designed to clear backpacks up to 85 L. It carries an IP54 rating for protection from dust and splashing water.
Hypershell describes Halo as lifestyle power, not a medical aid. Users must be able to walk independently, lift their legs and maintain balance without assistance.
US preorder details
The Halo Origin Edition is listed for US preorder at US$2,299, with shipping expected to begin in late November. Hypershell says the first 200 units worldwide include an extra PocketVolt battery, a unique wordmark and production number, and a one-year warranty extension. Pricing and availability outside the United States have not been established.
